Sub-nanosecond laser targets industrial applications
Photonics Industries has unveiled a high intensity sub-nanosecond series laser for industrial micro machining applications.
The new module includes 50W of green and 30W of UV in a commercially available diode pumped solid state laser. This, according to the company, is combined with TEM00 mode quality (M2 <1.5).
The high power laser can be used for next generation applications such as tempered glass, ceramics cutting, scribing and drilling, crystalline silicon or thin film based solar cell processing, LED substrates scribing and dicing and flex circuit cutting.
Photonics Industries says using the shorter pulse width laser enables more precise and ablative based material processing.
