New adaptable signal conditioner from Status
Status Instruments has launched a new flexibly designed signal conditioner.
The SEM1600T accepts resistance or mV signals from RTD, slide wire or thermocouple sensors and converts them to a user selected current or voltage output. With its flexible design, the standard product will accept more than 30 resistance sensors, including Pt100, Pt500, Pt1000, Ni types, Cu types, slidewire sensors up to 100K and resistance up to 10 Kohms as well as13 different thermocouples and mV inputs.
Status has also provided the facility to download additional sensor characteristics as well as the user's own 22 point linearisation table for slidewire, ohms and mV, via the free programming software.
The output signal can be configured over any part of the measured process range and the user may select either current or voltage outputs. The output signal can be programmed to any value between the following limits: 0 to 20mA (internal or external powered); 0 to 10V dc; -10 to 10V dc.
For ease of use, a high-efficiency switch mode power supply is fitted as standard and does not require any adjustment between ac or dc applications. Operating voltages are (10 to 48) V dc and (10 to 32) V ac.
Status' USB interface is fitted for quick and easy configuration. Users just need to connect a standard USB cable between the SEM1600T and their PC and, using Status' new 64 bit compatible free configuration software, the PC can upload the existing configuration data and guide users through any changes wished to be made.
