Rotary position sensor can be used for harsh environment angle measurement
Variohm EuroSensor has launched a new range of Hall Effect rotary position sensors with a selection of configuration options that make them suitable for a range of harsh environment angle measurement applications.

Aimed at manufacture and test in automotive, marine and agricultural equipment, as well as industrial machine building and material handling, the long life non-contacting sensors have a full turn capability of 360° and can be specified for standard electrical angles from 15 to 360° in 15° increments, with programmable single and dual output angles available with some I/O options.
The modules provide a 12bit resolution with an accuracy of +/-0.6% over the programmed full stroke with high resilience to shock and vibration and an operating temperature range of -40 to +125°C.
With a ratiometric output signal from a 5V supply and flying lead cable connection, the standard 9960 offering has a fully sealed IP67 polycarbonate housing with an optional IP69K version that suits wet, dusty and dirty environments.
The sensors include bronze sleeve bearings and feature a slotted drive for use with bladed shafts for ease of installation. A range of customisation options are available on request – from special lead lengths and connector options to alternative voltage and current outputs.
