Toughened, heat resistant epoxy for high performance structural bonding, sealing and coating
Master Bond Supreme 46HT-2 is a two component, high temperature resistant epoxy system for high performance structural bonding, sealing and coating applications. This toughened adhesive has superior thermal cycling capabilities and features serviceability up to 500°F.
Master Bond Supreme 46HT-2 is an epoxy formulation featuring an attractive balance of superior shear and peel strength properties of 2,500 psi and 10 pli, respectively. This two part system was developed for high performance structural bonding and coating. Supreme 46HT-2 is specially formulated to withstand rigorous thermal cycling and is suitable for applications where long-term exposure to temperatures from -100°F to +500°F is required.
Unlike many other epoxy compounds, its strengths are relatively insensitive to small changes in the mix ratio. It has a 100 to 30-35 mix ratio, by weight. Color coding makes mixing easy; Part A is tan and the color of Part B is brown. Featuring a moderate viscosity, Supreme 46HT-2 can be readily applied by brushing or rolling. The system cures rapidly in 2-4 hours at elevated temperatures with a minimum of 250°F required. It is a 100% reactive system and does not contain any solvents or diluents. Supreme 46HT-2 bonds well dissimilar substrates including most metals, ceramics, plastics and glass.
Once cured, it produces durable, tough bonds which are remarkably resistant to a wide variety of chemicals including water, many acids, bases, solvents, fuels and oils. Supreme 46HT-2 also has excellent electrical insulation properties.
Supreme 46HT-2 is widely used in aerospace, electronic, OEM and chemical/ oil processing applications. A non-drip version called Supreme 46HT-2ND2 is also available that will not flow during cure. Both versions of this product are also readily available in black.
